In general, two types of manuals are available in the list below, with some variations among them. Owners or OP Manuals typically tell about the method and sequences of setting and pressing the switches for proper threading and operation of a tape deck or other audio gear. The OP Manuals point out the machine specific functions and their intended uses.
The Service Manual is more likely to include information on the disassembly and technical information for the repair or the testing of such audio equipment. Almost all of the known technical information on a set such as: factory specifications and measurement methods ( for tape speed, W&F, Signal to Noise Ratio, THD, etc.) as well as adjustments of the transport mechanism and electronic level adjustments will also be found. Service Manuals also contain important photo's of the machine and pictorials of the major printed circuit boards, and exploded views of the internal mechanical assemblies and the head block. Detailed full schematic diagrams are included. Some Service Manuals had a separate Parts List; most of the later ones include the Parts List sections.
In almost all cases a Set of Schematics is also available. These are the same as are included with the Service Manuals.
Sets of enlarged copies of the pages containing the internal mechanical assembly views are also available separately.
